Ralph Lauren Duchess

Rose
Egyptian Jasmine
Lily of the Valley
Amber
These are the fragrance notes that make up
one of my favorite scents in the world:

Ralph Lauren Duchess
Although having been in the beauty industry for years as a consultant, student, makeup artist, and consumer, I tend to stay very loyal to my favorite brands.  Same goes for scents, whether it be eau de parfum or home fragrances.  The key is that I must love the scent at first smell.  That may sound cliché, but I rely entirely on my instincts when it comes to finding a signature scent.

I  believe I first discovered this candle at Ralph Lauren's store in Stanford Shopping Center two years ago.  Initially, I was hesitant to purchase the candle for $45, so I just kept my eye on it until on one visit to that same store, all home fragrances were on clearance!  Ralph Lauren was redesigning the packaging to their line of home fragrances.  At the time, these candles were in clear glass containers, labeled with a silver RL crest sticker, and enclosed in a pink box (pictured right).  Needless to say, I purchased as much Duchess' as I could!

After the repackaging, Ralph Lauren Duchess continues to be available in candle and difusser forms:

Duchess may be difficult to decipher if one does not have a perfumer's nose.  Even with the four fragrance notes known, the scent is well intertwined that not one note overpowers the other.  Be that as it may, Duchess is the most regal-smelling home fragrance I have experienced.  When I smell Duchess, this is what I envision for a home filled with this lovely fragrance:

Originally priced at $95.00, this three-wick candle is currently marked down to $66.50 on RalphLauren.com.  Save an additional 10% off with code PRIVATE14 during the Ralph Lauren Private Sale (through Monday, May 5, 2014), bringing the price to $59.85 before tax (37% off).  But wait, there's more!  Enjoy complimentary standard ground shipping on all orders through Sunday, May 11, 2014 (which is Mother's Day!).  Normally, free shipping is given for online orders $125 and up (previously $195).

In all the years I have been shopping RalphLauren.com, this is the first time I have ever seen no-minimum free shipping WITHOUT REQUIRING A CODE.  Typically, only one coupon or promo code is allowed per order, so you have to calculate the best savings between a percent-off or free shipping code - this time, you get BOTH!
